Orthopedic Sports Massage

Fascia‑Focused Soft Tissue Therapy

What it is?
This is a targeted, hands‑on treatment that works into restricted fascia and overloaded soft tissue—not a spa relaxation massage. Sessions can be intense but are carefully controlled and always tailored to your injury status, pain tolerance, and treatment goals. We frequently combine orthopedic sports massage with fire cupping when added decompression and fluid movement will help relieve stubborn muscle tension.

Who it helps
Athletes rehabbing an injury, active people with movement restrictions, and patients who need focused, evidence‑informed bodywork to restore function. Because techniques are adaptable, therapeutic massage can benefit people across the lifespan—from youth athletes to older adults—when customized appropriately.

How it works: fascial & soft tissue emphasis
Our approach draws on fascia distortion / myofascial release methods to load, shear, stretch, and mobilize restricted fascial planes and adhesed soft tissues. The aim: improve glide, circulation, and neuromuscular signaling; reduce protective tone; and restore range.

Treatment Experience
Expect more pressure specificity, positional release, and movement‑assisted techniques than a general relaxation massage. Intensity is discussed and calibrated in real time.

Adjunct Modalities
Fire cupping may be incorporated to create negative‑pressure lift through superficial fascia, support local perfusion, and augment tissue decompression—especially useful in post‑training recovery or focal overload regions.

Sports Medicine Focused, Patient‑Specific Technique Mix
We draw from multiple manual traditions (orthopedic massage, sports recovery work, trigger point release, myofascial techniques, instrument‑assisted work where appropriate) and tailor the session to the patient’s presentation, preferences, and stage of healing.

Role in Integrated Care

Therapeutic massage complements—and is often coordinated with—Acupuncture, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, and other rehab services. For referred patients, we align manual strategies with the active plan of care (load progression, tissue healing timelines, and return‑to‑sport criteria). Communication back to the referring provider is available on request.

Coverage & Scheduling

Massage therapy is covered by many insurance plans when medically indicated. We’re happy to verify your benefits and clarify any referral, diagnosis code, or authorization requirements before you begin care.
