A native Oregonian originally from Corvallis and raised in Southern California, Dr. Heide is a seasoned orthopedic sports acupuncture expert and healthcare advisor with over 20 years of leadership and healthcare private practice management. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve optimal results through evidence-based, orthopedic sports acupuncture, dry-needling and rehabilitation therapies.
Dr. Heide is the founder of Anjuna Sports Acupuncture, in Eugene, where he developed a thriving practice specializing in orthopedic sports acupuncture with the goal of improve athletic performance for his clients. He holds a Doctorate from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine focusing on orthopedic sports medicine, an MBA in Finance and Securities Analysis from the Lundquist College of Business, an MS from Pacific College of Health Sciences with a focus on orthopedic acupuncture, and a BA in English Literature with a focus on Naval Science from the University of Michigan. He is a nationally board-certified Diplomate in East Asian Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) and licensed acupuncturist (LAc) in California and Oregon.
Prior to his healthcare career, he served as a Naval Surface Warfare Officer aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) and USS Camden (AOE-2), and as a Logistics Planner for CNE-C6F (Africa Region) in Naples, Italy. He received his commission from NROTC, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor).

Christina is an experienced budget manager, university administrator, training coordinator and financial strategist. Currently she serves as the Business Development Lead for the Anjuna Clinic.

When she is not at the clinic, Christina also serves the City of Eugene in the Finance Department. Previously, she was a training coordinator for University of Oregon. In that role, she developed and facilitated an eight-session, semi-annual study group incorporating subject matter experts from across campus to prepare UO employees to obtain Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certifications. As an Oregon MBA graduate (Class of 2022), Christina studied business strategies from experienced business executives. Her passion lies in developing engaging, collaborative, productive environments where employees and companies flourish.
She is excited to support the Anjuna orthopedic sports acupuncture team with her MBA knowledge and business expertise.

Orthopedic Sports Acupuncture significantly expands upon fundamental Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approaches to the treatment of orthopedic conditions. Oregon College of Oriental Medicine
Dr. Heide received his Doctorate from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Class of 2015 with a focus in orthopedic sports medicine treatments. The Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) degree is the highest, research-focused, advanced-practice, terminal qualification in the field. the two-year residency program was located in Portland, Oregon and culminated with 554 cumulative academic hours and 670 cumulative clinical hours in advanced acupuncture training for senior clinicians.
Pacific College of Health and Science
Dr. Heide received his Masters of Science, Traditional Oriental Medicine, from the Pacific College of Health and Science, Class of 2013. The comprehensive, 3.5 year, full-time program is the foundational training for all professional licensed acupuncturists. He focused his training on the Advanced Treatment of Orthopedic Disorders under Drew Taylor, LAc. Dr. Heide passed the California Acupuncture Board on September 23rd, 2013, License #15688, and is considered the most difficult licensure board in the United States. Dr. Heide currently maintains his California and Oregon licenses.
NCCAOM Diplomate OM
A Diplomate of Oriental Medicine is a practitioner who is certified by the NCCAOM®. It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®). NCCAOM® Certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbology as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession. National board certification in Oriental medicine has been the hallmark of excellence in AOM since the inception of the NCCAOM® Oriental Medicine Certification Program in 2003.

Dr. Heide received his Bachelors of Arts in English Literature, Class of 2003. He also was an NROTC midshipman and received his officer commission as into the US Navy after graduation.

Dr. Heide received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance and Securities Analysis, Class of 2024. During his MBA program, Dr. Heide also completed an investment banking (mergers & acquisitions) internship at Harris Williams Investment Bank as a Summer Associate.
Small Business Mgmt Program
Dr. Heide completed the two-year Small Business Management Program, Class of 2016. The program is aimed at helping small business owners and management-level professionals of established businesses become better leaders, communicators, problem-solvers, and strategic decision-makers.
