Sports Acupuncture significantly expands upon fundamental Traditional Chinese Medicine. This approach applies Western biomedical knowledge to fully integrating both medical paradigms. As a result, the assessment and treatment strategies are evidence-based and highly effective for patients. The primary reason patients seek sports acupuncture is for pain management and rehabilitation.
Dry-Needling Electrotherapy (DN-ET) uses medical acupuncture needles with electro-stimulation to produce therapeutic results for patients who experience chronic or acute pain often related to a sports injury. The primary reason patients request DN-ET at our clinic is for pain management and rehabilitation, often upon the recommendation of their primary care physician or physical therapist.
Our Sports Massage is a form of fascia distortion release technique that is a hands-on soft tissue approach which facilitates a stretch into the restricted fascia. This is an intense treatment and is therapeutically different from a spa-style massage. This therapy is often combined with fire cupping, and is ideal for injured patients seeking targeted, evidence-based sports massage that relieves muscle tension.
Virtual Patient Intake. This telemedicine service is for patients who seek comprehensive case review with health advice related to sports injuries or pain, but are unable to visit our clinic in person. This service is available for patients in Oregon and California only, and is provided by Dr. Nathan Heide, DAOM, LAc. This service is not currently available to insurance clients.
Virtual neuromuscular exercise consultations are designed to enhance proprioception, motor control, and functional stability by improving the coordination between the nervous system and musculoskeletal system. These exercises target movement efficiency, joint stabilization, and muscle activation patterns to support injury prevention, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.
We offer new patients a free 15-minute virtual consultation with Dr. Heide. This session provides an opportunity to discuss your health concerns and explore potential treatment options before booking a full appointment. Dr. Heide welcomes all prospective patients to learn more about sports acupuncture in a convenient, face-to-face virtual meeting.
